[Financial News] Actor Kim Soo-hyun's side has stated its position on the case in which Kim Se-ui, head of Hoverlab, was sent to prosecutors in custody.
The Seoul Gangnam Police Station said on the 4th that it had sent Kim Se-ui to prosecutors on charges including violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes and defamation.
Kim is accused of spreading false claims through YouTube and other channels, alleging that Kim Soo-hyun had dated the late Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor and that Kim Sae-ron's death was caused by pressure from Kim Soo-hyun's side to repay debts. He is also accused of using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to precisely manipulate Kim Sae-ron's voice and create fake news.
Earlier, the court issued an arrest warrant for Kim, saying there was a risk of evidence destruction and flight. Kim's side challenged the warrant and requested a review of the detention, but the court rejected the request.

We would like to inform you of the results of the police investigation into several complaints and criminal charges filed by Kim Soo-hyun and our company against Kim Se-ui of Hoverlab.
As a result of the police investigation, charges were recognized, including violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation by spreading false information), the Act on the Punishment, etc. of Stalking Crimes, the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (distribution of filmed material using cameras, etc.), attempted coercion, and threats.
