【The Financial News Taipei, Taiwan=Jung Won-il, Choi Hye-rim】 "Walk around the exhibition hall. It will be even harder to find a place without an NVIDIA logo."
The true star of COMPUTEX Taipei 2026, Asia's largest information technology trade show, was undoubtedly NVIDIA and its CEO, Jensen Huang. On the 3rd, companies across the exhibition hall competed to present themselves as key partners in NVIDIA's ecosystem, while crowds gathered wherever Huang went.
■Jensen Huang's autograph becomes a seal of approval for AI partners
Visitors consistently flocked to exhibition booths bearing Huang's autograph, taking photos in front of them. ASUS, the Taiwanese PC maker, placed its ProArt series PCs, signed by Huang during his visit to the booth the previous day, at the entrance of its exhibition space. The products are based on NVIDIA DGX Spark, an AI PC platform Huang unveiled in his keynote on the 1st. Huang also left the phrase "Spark of AI" alongside his signature, drawing attention.
Taiwanese PC and server maker GIGABYTE also placed a desktop at the front of its booth with the message "Jensen♡GIGABYTE" and Huang's signature. Huang also visited SK hynix's booth the previous day and personally signed a High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) wafer and SOCAMM2, a next-generation memory module.
An industry source said, "Participating companies are waiting with bated breath for Jensen Huang to stop by their booths and leave an autograph," adding, "The fact that Huang visited is itself the best marketing tool."
Companies also waged an aggressive competition to court Huang. They made no secret of their love calls to NVIDIA, the biggest customer and partner in the AI era. Pegatron, a Taiwanese original design manufacturer, even displayed the message "♡Welcome, CEO Jensen Huang♡" on a large electronic board, while Samsung Display joined in by featuring Huang's image and heart-shaped graphics on the panels it exhibited.
■NVIDIA Vera Rubin appears everywhere
Another sign of NVIDIA's influence was the way participating companies put NVIDIA's next-generation AI computing platform, Vera Rubin, at the forefront of their displays. From Foxconn, the world's largest EMS company, to Taiwanese firms such as ASUS and Pegatron, as well as Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, companies highlighted NVIDIA Vera Rubin in their exhibition spaces. Just a few years ago, COMPUTEX was centered on the PC ecosystem built around Intel. This year, however, the competition was about being recognized as part of NVIDIA's ecosystem.
Huang's personal popularity also electrified the exhibition hall. As Huang visited booths run by Foxconn, MSI, and Pegatron on the day, crowds gathered to see him, and movement through the venue was briefly paralyzed.
As the AI era takes hold, interest in COMPUTEX is said to be higher than ever. Analysts also say that Taiwanese companies, which are closely linked through the AI supply chain, have gained even greater prominence.
Ravish, 25, a visitor from Sri Lanka who came to see COMPUTEX, said, "I may not know much about technology in detail, but I can feel that Taiwan's AI industry and companies are drawing a lot of attention." He added, "You can feel people's excitement and energy throughout the exhibition hall." Adel, 25, who said he works as an intern at a fabless company, noted, "After coming here, I think Taiwan has built a strong industrial ecosystem that connects AI servers all the way to semiconductor production." He added, "I have a very positive view of the future of the AI industry and high expectations for it."
