[Financial News] The People Power Party protested on the 3rd, saying that President Lee Jae Myung interfered in the election even on election day and violated the president's duty of political neutrality.
That day, President Lee Jae Myung wrote on X, formerly Twitter, "Did you vote, as Plato said, so as not to be ruled by the worst of the worst?" On May 31, he also urged voters to take part in the election, saying, "The price of political apathy is being ruled by the worst of the worst."
The People Power Party strongly pushed back, arguing that Lee had interfered in the election.
Jang Dong-hyeok wrote on his social networking service (SNS) account that day, "As the saying goes, Buddha sees only Buddha, and the vulgar seem to see only the vulgar," adding, "At this point, Plato would jump out of his grave, grab Lee by the collar, and shake him."
Appearing on the YouTube channel Penn & Mike TV that day, Jang said, "By posting on SNS, the president effectively continued to act as the Democratic Party of Korea's election chief," and criticized Lee for "continuously posting messages so low in quality that they are hard to even respond to."
He also argued that Lee "keeps violating his duty of political neutrality and engaging in illegal election campaigning," and said, "Even after the election is over, he must be investigated thoroughly and punished without fail."
Park Sung-hoon, the People Power Party's chief spokesperson, issued a commentary that day and said, "President Lee's message is not the language of a leader who seeks to unite the public and encourage voting," adding, "It is closer to political incitement aimed at dividing the public, stoking hostility, and rallying his supporters."
