"I Received Fewer Ballots" Chaos Over Demands for Revoting... 8 Election-Related 112 Police Emergency Number Reports in Incheon [June 3 Election]

【The Financial News, Incheon = Han Gap-su】 On June 3, the day of the nationwide local elections, several incidents of voters causing disturbances at polling stations in Incheon while demanding a revote were reported, and multiple election-related calls were made to the 112 Police Emergency Number.
According to the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency, a total of eight election-related reports were received through the 112 Police Emergency Number in Incheon between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. that day. However, all of the reports were found to involve simple misunderstandings or matters requiring on-site guidance, and none led to criminal charges.
In the morning, some voters who had already cast their ballots argued with election officials while demanding to vote again.
At around 6:40 a.m., at a polling station in Juan-dong, Michuhol District, a resident who had already voted and returned home came back to the polling place and demanded a revote, saying, "I think I received fewer ballots." As the disturbance continued, the National Election Commission (NEC) called the police. After being told that revoting was not possible, the situation was brought under control.
Then, at around 10:39 a.m., another polling station in Samsan-dong, Bupyeong District, also saw a voter who had already voted insist on voting again and demand a revote, prompting the NEC to call the police. Police and election officials explained to the voter that revoting was not allowed and resolved the situation.
Police said all of the reports received that day were simple complaints that did not involve any criminal suspicion.
A police official said, "All of the election-related reports were matters that could not be regarded as criminal acts. We provided immediate counseling and guidance at the scene and closed all of the cases."
