[Financial News] Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, which leads the global AI semiconductor market, will visit South Korea this week. Following last October's so-called "Kkanbu meeting" at a chicken restaurant, he is now expected to hold a "pork belly meeting" with heads of major Korean companies in the Seongsu-dong area of Seoul, drawing strong attention from the business community.
According to the semiconductor and IT industries on the 1st, Huang is expected to arrive in the evening of the 4th after wrapping up key events at the annual AI conference, GTC Taipei 2026, in Taiwan.
His official Korea schedule will begin on the 5th with meetings with the heads of major companies. Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, Koo Kwang-mo, chairman of LG Group, and Lee Hae-jin, chairman of Naver Corporation, are expected to attend. Chung Eui-sun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, is also reportedly adjusting his schedule favorably. Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong is expected to skip the meeting because of a planned overseas business trip.
The industry is paying close attention to reports that a famous pork belly restaurant in Seongsu-dong or near Hongdae in Seoul is the leading candidate for the venue. The choice appears to reflect Huang's preference for casual meetings. As last year, his eldest daughter, Madison Huang, senior director of product marketing for NVIDIA Omniverse and Robotics, is said to have been directly involved in planning the overall itinerary.
The main agenda is expected to include not only strengthening the existing AI semiconductor supply chain, but also expanding cooperation in next-generation growth areas such as Robotics and Physical AI.
Huang is also currently coordinating a visit on the 8th to NAVER 1784, Naver Corporation's second headquarters in Bundang District, Seongnam. 1784 is a tech convergence building that brings together Naver's advanced technologies, including robots, cloud, digital twins and a 5G private network. If the visit goes ahead, it is expected to further solidify future technology synergies between the global AI semiconductor leader and Korea's top platform company.
In addition, Huang plans to take the mound as the ceremonial first pitcher at a Doosan Bears home game at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul and hold a large-scale meeting with major Korean business leaders at The Shilla Seoul.
Before heading to Korea, Huang will host a "Korea Partner Night" dinner in Taiwan on the 1st. Executives from key Korean partner companies, including Kim Jae-joon, vice president of Samsung Electronics, Noh-Jung Kwak, CEO of SK hynix, Jeong Su-heon, CEO of LG Sciencepark, and Yuwon Kim, CEO of NAVER Cloud, will attend.
In particular, Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, is expected to attend Huang's keynote speech at GTC Taipei in person and hold a separate one-on-one meeting with him.
