[Financial News] As dating rumors have emerged between DAY6 member Dowoon and YouTuber Yoo Ji-yu, a comment left by Yoo's mother is drawing attention online.
In a recent post on the latest video uploaded to Yoo Ji-yu's YouTube channel, Jiyurokge, a user believed to be her mother wrote, "Ji-yu, don't even look at bad malicious comments like that. Just ignore them no matter what. You only need to think about yourself. You know what I mean, right?"
In addition to that comment, supportive messages from DAY6 fans and subscribers have continued to appear on the channel.
The response is being interpreted as a reaction to some of the malicious comments and rumors circulating on YouTube and social network service (SNS) platforms after the dating rumors surfaced. It appears to be a message meant to encourage her daughter, who has been placed in a difficult position by the sudden allegations.
Earlier, suspicions that the two were dating spread rapidly across online communities. Users pointed to similarities in their pets' breeds, home interiors, and stickers and key rings attached to their phone cases as evidence of the rumored relationship. In response, JYP Entertainment, Dowoon's agency, declined to give a detailed answer on the 26th, saying, "We have no separate statement."
However, as the situation worsened with rumors spreading beyond a simple dating story to claims that the group would disband, Dowoon posted a message on his social media account on the 28th to reassure fans. He said, "Our team will never disappear, even if we die. I'm not going anywhere, and don't even look at bad posts," adding, "For now, ignore any posts about me even if you see them. I'm sorry for hurting you."
