\r\n[Financial News] On Sunday, the 31st, most parts of the country will be mostly clear, but daytime highs are expected to reach as high as 34 degrees, bringing hot weather.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), daytime temperatures will range from 27 to 34 degrees, similar to Saturday's 24.1 to 33.6 degrees. With humidity added in, some areas may feel even hotter than the actual temperature.
In particular, the Gangwon East Coast, the South Jeolla coastal area, and some parts of the Gyeongsang region are expected to see a maximum heat index of around 31 degrees.
The KMA urged people to take precautions against heat-related illness, referring to the heatwave impact forecast to be released at 11:30 a.m. that day.
People are advised to reduce outdoor activities and long trips as much as possible. Infants, older adults, and people with chronic illnesses should avoid going outside during the hottest hours. At outdoor work sites, cool drinking water and rest areas should be provided, and farm workers should drink water frequently and wear breathable clothing.
Extra caution is also needed at sea and along the coast. Sea fog may form mainly over the Yellow Sea through Monday, and vessels sailing or fishing should watch for marine safety accidents.
High waves caused by swell are expected to reach the South Coast and the coast of Jeju Island from Sunday. In some areas, large waves may crash strongly onto sandy beaches or spill over coastal rocks and breakwaters. Some coastal roads may also be overtopped, so people are advised to avoid going near the shore for fishing and other activities.
From Sunday, the moon's gravitational pull will also be strong, making this a period of higher sea levels. In low-lying coastal areas, extra caution is needed against flooding and safety accidents around high tide.
