[Financial News] Public anger is growing over a group of men who received extra time, snacks, and other services at a karaoke bar, then fled without paying the 170,000 won bill.
JTBC's "Incident Chief" reported the tip from the karaoke bar owner, identified as A, on the 27th.
According to A, four male customers believed to be college students visited the venue at around 10:30 p.m. on the 17th. They ordered and drank six bottles of soju and eight bottles of beer, then stayed at the karaoke bar until 3 a.m. the next day.
A said that after one of the men who left first told him, "Another younger friend will pay later," he went into the room the group had been using. Inside, two of the men were lying on the floor after vomiting. They reportedly regained consciousness about 30 minutes later and drank stomach medicine and honey water that A had brought them.
When the men were leaving the karaoke bar, they showed A a phone screen as if they had completed a bank transfer, then quickly ran out. They are said to have fled after only pretending to send the 170,000 won payment. A immediately chased after them, but the men had already left the scene.
A expressed frustration, saying, "We gave them fruit as a free snack, extended their time by two more hours, and even prepared honey water and stomach medicine. But they ran off without paying." A reported the incident to the police, and an investigation is now under way.
