[Early Voting] Early turnout for parliamentary by-elections reaches 24.12%... 25.57% in Busan Buk-gu-gap

[Financial News] The final early voting turnout for the parliamentary by-elections held alongside the June 3 local elections came in at 24.12%. A total of 546,757 voters took part in early voting out of 2,267,121 eligible voters across 14 constituencies.
According to the National Election Commission (NEC) on the 30th, the figure reflects the results of early voting for the parliamentary by-elections conducted over two days, from 6 a.m. on the 29th to 6 p.m. on the 30th.
By province and city, Jeonbuk State recorded the highest turnout at 34.41%. It was followed by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province at 26.17%, Busan Metropolitan City at 25.57%, South Chungcheong Province at 24.23%, Gwangju Metropolitan City at 23.56%, Incheon Metropolitan City at 22.73%, Ulsan Metropolitan City at 22.17%, and Gyeonggi Province at 20.34%. Daegu Metropolitan City had the lowest turnout at 17.56%.
By constituency, the Gunsan City, Gimje City, and Buan County constituency posted the highest turnout at 42.59%. In that district, 52,610 of the 123,540 eligible voters cast early ballots. It was followed by Gongju, Buyeo, and Cheongyang at 30.16%, Gunsan City, Gimje City, and Buan County A at 29.71%, Seogwipo City at 26.17%, and Busan Buk-gu-gap constituency at 25.57%.
The constituency with the lowest turnout was Dalseong County, Daegu. There, 36,908 of 210,129 eligible voters cast early ballots, for a turnout of 17.56%. Asan B recorded 18.24%, Ansan-si Gap 18.49%, and Pyeongtaek B 18.39%.
In Busan Buk-gu-gap constituency, where Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) candidate Ha Jung-woo, People Power Party candidate Park Min-sik, and independent candidate Han Dong-hoon are running, the final early voting turnout was 25.57%. That was 1.45 percentage points above the overall turnout across the 14 constituencies. In Pyeongtaek B, where DPK candidate Kim Yong-nam, People Power Party candidate Yu Eui-dong, and Rebuilding Korea Party candidate Cho Kuk are running, the final early voting turnout was 18.39%.
