[Financial News] President Lee Jae-myung urged voters to take part in the 9th nationwide local elections.
On the second day of early voting for the June 3 local elections, Lee posted on X, formerly Twitter, under the title "Let's definitely vote" and wrote that "voting is the lifeline of democracy."
He stressed that "giving up voting is like giving up the future of myself and my family."
He added that "abstaining is not neutrality, but siding with those who harm my life and community."
Earlier, on the first day of early voting on the 29th, Lee and Kim visited the Samcheong-dong Community Service Center near Cheong Wa Dae and cast their ballots. The move was intended to encourage public participation and emphasize that democracy is completed through the people's involvement.
In particular, Lee drew attention by wearing a gray tie when he went to vote early. It was interpreted as a gesture underscoring political neutrality. That day, Lee walked from Cheong Wa Dae to the Samcheong-dong Community Service Center, where the early voting station was set up, and continued greeting citizens along the way. Residents greeted the presidential couple with "I voted," and Lee responded warmly, taking photos with them in a friendly atmosphere.
