Early Voting Turnout for Local Elections Stands at 1.7% as of 9 a.m. on Opening Day

\r[Financial News] As of 9 a.m. on the 29th, the first day of early voting for the June 3 local elections, turnout stood at 1.7%.
The National Election Commission (NEC) said 758,381 people had voted out of 44,649,908 eligible voters in the early voting that began at 6 a.m.
That is 0.11 percentage point higher than the 1.59% recorded at the same time during the 2022 local elections four years ago.
Jeonnam had the highest turnout so far at 4.12%, followed by North Jeolla Province at 3.16%, Gangwon State at 2.22%, and Gwangju at 2.08%. Daegu Metropolitan City recorded the lowest turnout at 1.24%. It was followed by Gyeonggi Province at 1.36%, Incheon at 1.42%, and Busan Metropolitan City at 1.44%. Seoul's turnout was 1.57%. Early voting will continue for two days, from the 29th to the 30th.
Voting hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Voters must bring a valid ID and visit an early voting station to participate.
