[Financial News]#. Office worker A recently checked a generation-by-generation comparison chart for Actual Expense Medical Insurance on the insurance information big data platform BIGIN, then switched from the existing 2nd generation plan to a 5th Generation Medical Indemnity Insurance product. He rarely used non-covered medical services such as manual therapy, but felt the premium burden was heavy. Through the comparison data, he confirmed that the new 5th Generation Medical Indemnity Insurance could be more advantageous for subscribers like him.The Korea Insurance Development Institute now offers a service that lets users compare information on Actual Expense Medical Insurance across all generations, including the recently launched 5th Generation Medical Indemnity Insurance, at a glance. The goal is to help consumers decide whether to switch policies based on their own medical usage patterns.
BIGIN is a platform that provides insurance-related statistics, knowledge, and research materials. It can be used not only by ordinary consumers, but also by insurance industry workers and students. As interest in the recently launched 5th Generation Medical Indemnity Insurance has grown, usage of the "Actual Expense Medical Insurance by Generation" content in the "Insurance Basics" menu has also increased.
Actual Expense Medical Insurance differs by launch period in terms of deductibles, non-covered benefit structures, and premium systems. A key feature of the 5th generation plan is a stronger structure in which premiums vary according to the amount of non-covered care used.
On the 31st, the Korea Insurance Development Institute explained that the 5th generation product could be advantageous for subscribers who use little non-covered care, such as manual therapy.
The platform also provides major insurance statistics, including the current status of property damage liability coverage amounts among car insurance policyholders. In the "Key Insurance Indicators for the 50s" menu, the share of policyholders with property damage liability coverage of 1 billion won or more was the highest last year.
Research materials and issue reports related to the insurance industry are also made public. Users can also review examples of how insurers are using artificial intelligence (AI), related risk factors, and overseas insurance policy guidelines.
BIGIN's user base continues to grow steadily. Monthly users rose from around 3,000 in March last year to 22,000 in March this year, and reached 35,000 last month.
Heo Chang-eon, president of the Korea Insurance Development Institute, said, "We will continue expanding and updating insurance information that is useful in everyday life so that BIGIN can grow into a valuable insurance information platform."
