[Financial News] For the first time in Argentina's history, a working mother with a child has been selected as the country's Miss Universe representative and will compete on the world stage.
According to local media outlet La Nacion and others on the 26th local time, Tamara Rogowski, 28, took first place in the Miss Universe Argentina finals held the previous day.
After winning a regional competition, Rogowski also swept the Miss Universe finals' "Best Face" and "Evening Gown" awards, earning three titles in total.
The pageant organizing committee said Rogowski was chosen as the winner not simply for her appearance, but because she delivered a sincere message throughout the competition, which earned high praise from the judges.
Rogowski said, "As a marketing professional, I discovered the power of words, and as a mother, I learned that every decision I make can inspire someone." She added, "We all carry something valuable that can contribute to the world." She continued, "The key is to find it, develop it, and have the courage to use it for others," sharing her thoughts on the win.
Rogowski, who began modeling at age 12, continued her career while also pursuing her studies and graduated from university.
She is currently raising her young daughter, Sophie, and said, "I feel an indescribable sense of pride." She also reflected on balancing parenting and work, saying, "It has been a journey that required tremendous effort, dedication, and responsibility."
Meanwhile, the Miss Universe organizing committee expanded eligibility in 2023 to include married women and women with children.
Rogowski will represent Argentina at the 75th Miss Universe pageant, which will be held in Costa Rica this November.
