[Financial News] A post by an employee at a public enterprise claiming to have earned about 10 billion won from stock investments over the past year is drawing attention online.
On the 27th, a post titled "It’s possible to make 10 billion won in a year" appeared on Blind, an anonymous workplace community.
A man identified as an employee of Korea Western Power Co., Ltd. wrote, "I just did the math today, and my profit over the past year has reached 10 billion won," adding, "It really is possible. Even I’m stunned that I did it."
The photo he shared showed about 8.8 billion won in profit from one account and a return rate of 653.95%. A said that the total profit, when simply added up, comes to roughly 10 billion won. However, the authenticity of the earnings proof has not been confirmed.
A also explained his investment style, saying, "I mainly trade, so the transaction amounts are huge," and added, "I’m deeply grateful to Samsung Electronics and SK hynix." Among individual investors, "Samsung Electronics and SK hynix" is a shorthand expression for the two companies.
The trading screen also showed realized gains of about 629 million won, 290 million won, and 262 million won over specific periods, along with buy and sell records worth billions of won.
Comments asking for his investment method soon followed. One user asked, "What’s the ratio between swing trading and day trading?" A replied, "I don’t intentionally divide the ratio, but I think it’s about half and half." He then said he uses the DDE feature in HTS to process data in Microsoft Excel and invests using his own indicators.
