\r\n[Financial News] Chef Oh Se-deuk has spoken out directly in response to a series of recent controversies surrounding him.
On the 26th, Oh posted an article on his social networking service (SNS) account titled "Regarding the Spread of False Information on SNS." He emphasized, "I clearly state that the content being spread on SNS recently is false and does not reflect the facts. The spread of false information is an act that carries serious legal responsibility, and we will respond to it firmly."
Oh explained, "The materials currently made public concern a case I personally filed, including additional capital contribution details, equity transfer, a complaint over a private document related to transfer and acquisition, and the fact that it was not Oh Se-deuk's seal. Separately, many members of the cooperative also reviewed the facts and the corporate account deposit and withdrawal records related to the capital contributions, and then filed and pursued multiple reports and complaints together with me."
He added, "If the other side's claims were true, then complaints or reports should have been filed against me instead. However, to date, not a single related report or complaint has been received." He also said, "On some SNS posts, a specific person identified as 'C' in media reports is being maliciously distorted and portrayed as me, but that is a clear misrepresentation of the facts."
Oh also stressed, "I ask that people not be misled by claims based on false information and do not leave incorrect comments or cause secondary harm. All facts will be made clear through the relevant procedures and the results of the investigation."
Earlier, on the 25th, an internet user posted a lengthy exposé on SNS, claiming that "a celebrity's unfair behavior has caused my mother severe psychological and financial distress." The post did not directly name the celebrity.
According to the accuser, the celebrity had maintained a long-standing relationship with the writer's mother as both a friend and an employee, and continued that connection even after taking over an Agricultural Cooperative Corporation in Jeju Province in 2011. The accuser said the celebrity is now obstructing the farm's operations and even threatening their right to survive.
The writer cited specific alleged damage, including blocking the farm entrance, damaging the farm office door, threatening employees, stealing a work phone, and stealing harvested crops. The accuser also claimed that after the phone was stolen, the person in question contacted business partners, urged them to stop existing transactions, and pressured them to deal directly with him. The accuser said all related matters were reported to the police.
The accuser further claimed that the celebrity's family caused the writer's mother to suffer "financial fraud losses worth over 1 billion won," and said a court ruling on the matter also exists. The accuser suggested that the person, after a series of business failures, appeared to be acting for financial reasons.
The mother's side also continued criticizing the individual. The person said, "Reports are pouring in about his bluffing and false life," adding, "His profile described him as the owner of a restaurant that had already closed, and more recently he even updated it to say he was the owner of a farm." The post also included a screenshot of an article showing the person appearing on Wednesday Food Talk and explaining rumors that he came from a wealthy family.
As the details became known, speculation spread on online communities and elsewhere that the person mentioned in the exposé might be Chef Oh Se-deuk.
