[Financial News] A man in his 40s who allegedly broke into actress Kim Gyu-ri's home and demanded valuables in an attempted robbery is now facing a detention review.
Judge Lee Jong-rok of the Seoul Central District Court, the chief judge in charge of warrants, will hold a pretrial detention hearing for the suspect, identified only by his surname Im, at 3:30 p.m. on the 22nd on charges of robbery resulting in injury.
Im is accused of illegally entering Kim's home on the evening of the 20th and assaulting Kim and another woman, identified as A, while trying to steal valuables. The crime ended as an attempted offense after the two women, including Kim, escaped outside the house when Im's watchfulness lapsed. The victims reportedly received hospital treatment for fractures and bruises.
When police began tracking him, Im turned himself in about three hours after the crime in Hwagok-dong, Gangseo District, Seoul.
A decision on whether to detain Im is expected as early as late tonight.
