[Financial News] Global alternative investment manager Apollo Global Management, along with major crypto players including Tether (USDT) and Robinhood, will take the stage as speakers at "KBW 2026 with Upbit," which will be held in Seoul this September. As institutional investors that are actively involved in the crypto market join the lineup, discussions are expected to focus on traditional finance's entry into digital assets.
According to the crypto industry on the 21st, Christine Moy, a partner at Apollo Global Management, will speak at "KBW 2026 with Upbit," which will be held for three days from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 at WALKERHILL HOTELS & RESORTS in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
Apollo Global Management is regarded as one of the world's top three private equity firms alongside Blackstone and KKR, with assets under management reportedly reaching $1 trillion. Moy oversees Apollo's crypto, data and artificial intelligence strategies, and leads efforts to apply blockchain technology to alternative investment management and financial services innovation. At the event, she is expected to explain how tokenization and on-chain infrastructure are being applied to actual investment strategies, product structures and business models.
Yubal Luz, co-founder and CEO of Digital Asset, which operates the institutional blockchain infrastructure Canton Network, will also participate. Canton Network supports tokenized assets and on-chain transactions between institutions in line with the interoperability and compliance requirements of financial firms. It is currently used by major global financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, DTCC and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). Luz is expected to discuss how on-chain financial infrastructure could reshape global capital markets and how it can be applied in practice.
Johann Kerbrat, senior vice president of Robinhood's crypto division, has also been named as a speaker. Robinhood is widely seen as a company that has broadened the link between traditional finance and the digital asset market by connecting stock and crypto investing experiences in a mobile environment. Kerbrat is expected to discuss Robinhood's global brokerage experience and the intersection of crypto and tokenization market expansion with retail liquidity.
Bo Hines, who leads Tether's U.S. business, will also take part. Hines is expected to explain how stablecoins are reshaping global liquidity, cross-border payments and digital financial infrastructure.
Balaji Srinivasan, former CTO of Coinbase, will also take the stage. He plans to discuss how the digital economy and network-based governance could change the roles of investment, markets and nations in the future.
"KBW 2026 with Upbit," first launched in 2018, is being held for the ninth time this year. The event is hosted by the Web3 ecosystem builder FACTBLOCK, with Upbit joining this year as a presenting partner. The first lineup for KBW 2026, announced earlier, includes Patrick Witt, executive director of the White House Digital Asset Advisory Committee; Tom Lee, chairman of the board at Bitmine Immersion Technologies; Kyungseok Oh, CEO of Dunamu Inc.; Jeffrey Yan, CEO of Hyperliquid; and Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX.
Park Wi-ik, CEO of FACTBLOCK, said, "KBW 2026 is expanding beyond a simple industry conference into a platform that addresses issues drawing attention from global institutional finance and capital markets." He added, "It will be an important venue for discussing the next phase of the crypto market."
Kyungseok Oh, CEO of Dunamu Inc., said, "The crypto market is moving beyond technical experiments and is leading to changes in financial infrastructure and capital market structures." He added, "I hope KBW 2026 will serve as an opportunity to connect global institutions with the Korean market and advance institutional discussions on crypto assets to the next level."
