[Financial News] On the 21st, President Lee Jae-myung ordered relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS), to conduct a strict fact-finding probe and a thorough safety inspection over the missing rebar incident in the Samseong station section of Great Train eXpress Line A (GTX-A).
Kang Yoo-jung said this during a briefing at the Chunchugwan Press Center that day.
When asked about the background behind the order, Kang explained, "Given the summer rainy season and various other circumstances, the government has a responsibility and duty to inspect safety at the site to prevent major accidents, and it instructed the relevant ministries to review the cause of the incident."
Earlier, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport had decided to carry out a full inspection and launch an audit over the missing rebar found during construction in the Samseong station section of GTX-A.
