[Financial News] KOSPI is trading lower amid net foreign selling.
As of 1:01 p.m. on the 20th, KOSPI was trading at 7,132.65, down 139.01 points, or 1.91%, from the previous session.
The index opened at 7,324.52, up 52.86 points, or 0.73%, from the previous day. However, it briefly fell as much as 217.82 points, or 3.00%, to 7,053.84 as foreign selling intensified during the session.
In the KOSPI Market, foreigners are selling 2.3898 trillion won worth of shares. By contrast, individual and institutional investors are buying 990.4 billion won and 1.3473 trillion won worth of shares, respectively.
Most large-cap stocks are also moving lower. Samsung Electronics is down more than 2%, while SK hynix is edging up 0.06%.
By sector, electricity and gas (-5.88%), securities (-5.27%), and metals (-5.23%) are among the weakest.
The KOSDAQ Index was trading at 1,047.72 at the same time, down 36.64 points, or 3.38%, from the previous session.
