Applications for high fuel price relief funds top 13 million, with payouts exceeding 3 trillion won

\r\n[Financial News] More than 13 million people have applied for the high fuel price relief fund. Two days after applications for the second round began, 36.7% of all eligible recipients had applied, and cumulative payouts have surpassed 3 trillion won.
\r\nAccording to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) on the 20th, the total number of applicants for the first and second rounds of the high fuel price relief fund stood at 13,191,343 as of midnight on the 19th, the ministry said on the 20th. That accounts for 36.71% of the 35,929,596 total eligible recipients. Cumulative payouts reached 3.0739 trillion won.
For the first round, 3,005,000 people applied, bringing the application rate to 93.0% of eligible recipients. Payouts totaled 1.7067 trillion won. For the second round, 10,186,000 people applied, with an application rate of 31.2% and payouts of 1.3671 trillion won.
By region, Jeonnam had the highest application rate at 41.81%. North Jeolla Province followed at 39.72%, Busan at 39.19%, Gwangju Metropolitan City at 38.98%, and Daegu at 38.19%. In contrast, Gyeonggi Province at 34.36%, Jeju Province at 34.82%, Sejong City at 35.73%, and South Chungcheong Province at 35.97% were below the overall average.
By payment method, credit and debit card applications were the most common at 8,523,471. Applications for Local Love Gift Certificate mobile and card formats totaled 2,199,695, while prepaid cards accounted for 2,174,812. Paper Local Love Gift Certificates came to 293,365.
