[Financial News] Samsung Electronics and its labor union began the third post-strike mediation meeting on the 20th at Government Complex Sejong, with the National Labor Relations Commission acting as mediator. With just one day left before the union's planned general strike, the talks are effectively the final round of negotiations.
\r\nBefore the meeting, Choi met with reporters and said, "We had expected the mediation to end yesterday, but it was extended, so I am sorry if that caused any inconvenience. We are doing our best until the process is concluded, and we are working to reach a good agreement."
\r\nThe mediation had originally been scheduled to begin yesterday morning and conclude at 7 p.m. However, the two sides failed to narrow their differences on one issue, and the talks continued past midnight. The meeting then resumed this morning, 9 hours and 30 minutes later.
