[The Financial News] Actress Jun Ji-hyun is drawing attention after revealing her own philosophy on stock investing.
On the 16th, a video titled "Outing Is Just an Excuse" was uploaded to the YouTube channel DdeunDdeun.
The program, hosted by Yoo Jae-suk, featured the lead actors of the film Colony — Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan and Ji Chang-wook — who talked about investing.
Jun said she has been investing in stocks for a long time. "I set a target return, and if it looks good, I sell quickly to lock in profits," she said.
"If I don't do that, it always ends up in the red later. There are many cases where it does turn negative, and then I just wait," she added.
After hearing Jun's investment philosophy, Yoo said, "There are a lot of people around me who invest in stocks, but not many set a target return and take profits that decisively," expressing admiration.
Ji, who said he invests in U.S. stocks, noted that "the returns are not bad" and added, "Rather than looking for short-term gains, I trust the company itself."
"For example, if there is a company, the odds that it will go under are lower than the odds that I will. A big company is less likely to fail than I am," he said. "Rather than entrusting my money to myself, it is much safer to leave it to smart CEOs."
Yoo said, "I tend to put a lot of affection into the companies I invest in. Even when bad news comes out, I cling to them as if they were my own child," adding, "I'm a typical retail investor who keeps that relationship going with a parent-like heart."
Meanwhile, attention is also focused on Jun Ji-hyun's real estate holdings, along with her stock-investing principles.
Jun is known to own multiple properties in Seoul.
In September last year, she bought two buildings in the Atelier-gil area of Seongdong District for more than 46 billion won. In 2023, she also purchased a duplex penthouse at Acro Seoul Forest in Seongdong District for 13 billion won in cash.
She also owns commercial properties, including shops in Deungchon-dong in Gangseo District, Ichon-dong in Yongsan District and Samseong-dong in Gangnam District. The combined value of these properties is estimated to be close to 150 billion won.
