According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) on the 15th, the debris from the unidentified flying object that hit the Namuho arrived in South Korea by air after consultations with the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The debris had been kept at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai and was later moved to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi for safekeeping.
A detailed examination of the debris will be led by the military. The investigation is expected to determine whether the unidentified flying object was a drone or a missile.
The government has decided to conduct a two-track investigation, both in Dubai and in South Korea, to identify who was behind the attack on the Namuho. It will also carry out additional detailed inspections of the Namuho, which is currently waiting at the Dubai ship repair yard. The Ministry of National Defense dispatched a technical analysis team to Dubai on the 13th for further scientific examination.
There is still no consensus on who launched the unidentified flying object. A senior government official said, "Iran has not only the IRGC but also a regular navy, and there are also terrorists, so we still do not know who was responsible." He also said, "We do not yet know whether there is a possibility of an attack by any other actor besides Iran, but common sense suggests it is not very likely."
