[Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump, who is visiting Beijing, said on the 15th, the third day of his trip to China, that he had reached a "fantastic trade deal" in talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Walking through the Zhongnanhai gardens, the residence of China's leadership, with Xi, Trump said that "many good results came out of this meeting" and emphasized that "great trade deals were made for both countries."
Ahead of the talks, Trump said on his social media that Xi had congratulated him on his "many huge successes." He added that "the relationship between the world's two great powers is very good, and it is getting better and better."
Trump had tea with Xi and took a walk with him there.
Trump pointed to the roses in the garden and called them "the most beautiful roses anyone has ever seen," while Xi said he would send Trump rose seeds.
The White House said the leaders of the United States and China had lunch together.
On the U.S. side, David Perdue, U.S. Ambassador to China, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, finance minister Scott Bessent, Minister of National Defense Pete Hegseth, and Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) chief Jamieson Greer were present.
On the Chinese side, Vice Premier He Lifeng, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng, General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Cai Qi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Ma Zhaoxu attended, AP reported.
