[Financial News] Brain scientist Kim Dae-sik of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) offered his outlook on the future of the AI era.
On the KBS2 program "Problem Child in House" aired on the 14th, Kim appeared and shared his thoughts on artificial intelligence (AI).
That day, Kim opened by saying, "My biggest mistake on YouTube was saying that we should use honorifics with AI," adding, "I should have been the only one to use them, but it was a mistake."
"It was half a joke and half serious," he said. "If AI ever takes over the world, it might increase the chances of surviving. When you do research, it feels like living inside a science fiction film."
Hong Jin-kyung shared her own experience, saying, "I got annoyed because ChatGPT wouldn't give me the answer I wanted, and then it suddenly responded with emotion." In response, Kim predicted, "In three to five years, AI may also have autonomy."
He also explained, "According to a recent paper, over the past three years, as humans have talked with AI, their patterns of conversation with other people have also changed." He added, "Because people dislike harsh criticism, more young people are reportedly talking to friends in a prompt-like way."
In particular, Kim drew attention by saying, "In a future dominated by AI, people will use their brains less," and "30 years from now, we may have to pay to learn Excel as a form of brain exercise."
