KOSPI Reclaims the 7,900 Level on Retail Buying [Morning Market Update]

[Financial News] The KOSPI Composite Index reclaimed the 7,900 level on the 14th, supported by retail buying.
As of 10:17 a.m. that day, the KOSPI Composite Index was trading at 7,950.53, up 106.52 points, or 1.36%, from the previous session.
The index opened at 7,873.91, up 29.90 points, or 0.38%, from the previous session.
In the Korea Exchange Main Board, foreign investors and institutions were net sellers of 1.2048 trillion won and 223.8 billion won, respectively, while individuals were net buyers of 1.365 trillion won.
Among the 14 largest stocks by market capitalization, Samsung Electronics, the No. 1 company by market cap, was trading at 297,250 won, up 4.67% from the previous session.
Samsung Life Insurance (3.27%), LG Energy Solution (2.15%), and Hyundai Mobis (1.85%) were also strong. By contrast, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) (-7.64%), Doosan Enerbility (-2.63%), and SK Square (-0.84%) were weaker.
The KOSDAQ Index was trading at 1,173.70, down 2.62 points, or 0.23%, from the previous session. It opened at 1,187.02, up 10.09 points, or 0.86%, from the previous session's 1,176.93.
The won–dollar exchange rate opened at 1,489.8 won, down 0.8 won from the previous session's daytime close of 1,490.6 won.
