[Financial News] Ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to China, the Chinese government has urged Pakistan to take a more active role in mediating an end to the conflict between the United States and Iran.
On the 13th, Xinhua News Agency reported that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a phone call with Ishaq Dar, Pakistan's prime minister and foreign minister, on the 12th and urged efforts to resolve the U.S.-Iran mediation issue and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz "appropriately."
\r\nDar explained Pakistan's recent mediation efforts to Wang and expressed gratitude for China's support of the negotiation efforts, Xinhua said.
