[Financial News] A story is drawing attention after a damaged piece of clothing was sent to a repair center and returned with beautiful embroidery.
On the 5th, a post titled "Kolon is really insane" was uploaded to the online community FMKorea.
The writer, identified as A, said, "I bought an outer jacket during a recent Kolon Series sale, but the pocket area was badly torn when I fell while riding a bicycle."
In the photo A shared, the front of a khaki jacket pocket was badly torn, leaving a hole.
He said, "I sent it to the Kolon repair center because I wasn't sure whether it could be fixed, and I was told that a perfect restoration would be difficult." He added, "The total repair cost was 24,000 won, but they covered 20,000 won, so I only had to pay 4,000 won out of pocket."
He continued, "The person in charge said embroidery was the only option," and added, "Still, I trusted their promise to do their best and left it there, half expecting and half doubting."
After receiving the jacket by delivery, A said, "I am extremely satisfied with the result. Honestly, if it had turned out badly, I was just going to stop wearing it, but I was so relieved that the embroidery color blended naturally into the fabric." He then shared photos of the repaired jacket.
The damaged area on the front of the jacket pocket was completely covered with a tree-shaped embroidery design made using khaki thread that matched the jacket's color.
A said, "For a moment, I thought, 'So this is why big-company clothes are good.'" He added, "I am simply grateful to the person who repaired it."
Internet users who saw the story reacted with comments such as, "It turned into a limited edition," "The embroidery is really beautifully done," "This isn't repair level; they turned it into a handmade custom piece," "At this quality, people might even start sending things in for after-sales service on purpose," "It was plain before, but now it became the highlight," and "It doesn't look tacky at all; they really repaired it with great taste."
