\r\n[The Financial News] An online debate is intensifying after a wife said she is troubled by her husband, who insists on personally bathing their daughter every week even though she is now a first-year middle school student going through puberty.

On the 5th, a post titled "Is my father sexually harassing me?" was uploaded to an online community, drawing widespread attention.
The writer, identified as A, said, "My husband has been bathing our daughter once a week since she was a newborn, and now that she is in first year of middle school, it is still the same." According to A, the daughter usually showers by herself, but once a week her father must bathe her and even dry her hair.
A said, "Our daughter still tends to act spoiled around her father," but added, "She is old enough to do it on her own now, and I tried to stop him by saying I could even scrub her back for her, but my husband insists that he has to do it himself."
A continued, "My daughter has also received sex education at school, so she knows this is not a normal thing." She added, "I honestly do not know whether this should be seen as simple father-daughter affection, or whether it is such a serious issue that I should separate them immediately and even consider divorce."
After the story was made public, criticism poured in across online communities and social networking services (SNS). Many pointed out that the basic right of a pubescent child to bodily autonomy and boundary respect was not being upheld at all.
Most users expressed strong concern, saying, "A middle school student is at the stage of secondary sexual development, so a father bathing her is beyond common sense," "She is old enough to wash herself, and the father's behavior has clearly crossed the line," and "If this is true, the father and daughter should be separated immediately and counseling from a professional agency should be sought."
Others, however, questioned whether the story was even true. Some users said the situation and wording seemed unrealistic, adding that it looked like a fabricated post designed to provoke outrage and clicks.
