[The Financial News] Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, strongly rejected Iran's new proposal.
In an interview with Israel's public broadcaster Kan News on the 3rd local time, Trump sharply criticized Iran's recently surfaced negotiation proposal.
He said in the interview, "I studied that proposal and reviewed everything," adding, "It is absolutely unacceptable."
He did not go into detail about what he reviewed, but the remarks were seen as a reaffirmation of his hard-line stance toward Iran.
Iran delivered a 14-point plan for ending the conflict to the United States.
The proposal includes ending the U.S. maritime blockade, paying war compensation, and lifting frozen Iranian assets.
It also calls for finalizing peace terms within 30 days, but the United States reportedly believes that timeline is too short.
As an uneasy ceasefire has continued for three weeks, a cargo ship near the Strait of Hormuz came under attack from several small boats, though all crew members were unharmed, UKMTO said.
This was the first such attack since the ceasefire began on the 22nd of last month. AP reported that there have been about 20 attacks on vessels in the region, including the Strait of Hormuz, since the war broke out in late February.
