[The Financial News]  President Donald John Trump has reportedly been briefed on a new set of powerful military options against Iran, sharply escalating pressure on the country.
On the 1st local time, Axios reported that Trump received a high-level briefing on possible strikes against Iran from Commander, United States Central Command Brad Cooper and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine.
The plans reviewed in the briefing were said to include high-intensity operations that could paralyze Iran’s state functions.
The outlet said plans for a "short and powerful" strike on Iran’s infrastructure are being discussed, and that limited occupation operations to reopen navigation through the Strait of Hormuz are also possible.
It also reported that special forces are considering a mission to seize Iran’s enriched uranium.
In an interview with Newsmax, Trump said the United States had already won, adding, "But we want to win by a bigger margin."
Experts say the briefing goes beyond a simple threat and may mark the peak of Trump’s "maximum pressure" strategy aimed at bringing Iran to the negotiating table.
