According to police and other sources, the KCTU and the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU) are each holding rallies involving tens of thousands of people. The KCTU will hold the '2026 World Labor Day Rally' starting at 3 p.m. in front of Dongwha Duty Free Shop in Jongno District, with about 15,000 people expected to gather. After the rally, participants are scheduled to march 2.6 kilometers from Sejong-daero Intersection starting at 4 p.m.
\r\nAffiliated groups of the KCTU will hold pre-rallies from 1 p.m. in areas including Jongno, Euljiro and Yulgok-ro. The FKTU will also hold a pre-rally from 1:30 p.m. At 2 p.m., it will stage the 'National Workers' Rally' with 30,000 union members participating.
In line with its ongoing 'rally and protest redesign' policy, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has decided to deploy only the necessary number of riot police officers at the scene. However, if illegal acts occur, it will respond according to law and principle. Two hundred traffic police officers will be deployed for traffic management.
Detailed traffic conditions, including rally times and restricted areas, can be checked through the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Traffic Information Hotline, the Central Traffic Information Center Website, and the KakaoTalk channel 'Seoul Police Traffic Information'.
