[The Financial News] On the 30th, Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, strongly criticized Democratic Party of Korea candidates Jung Won-oh for Seoul Metropolitan City Mayor and Jeon Jae-soo for Mayor of Busan, while stepping up support for People Power Party candidates Oh Se-hoon and Park Hyung-joon.
At a Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Jang said, "When I asked Candidate Jung about transportation policy, he said the answer was to reduce the supply of cars," adding, "That is like telling someone to lose weight because their house is too small."
He went on to say, "Candidate Jung's real estate supply plan is a copy of Lee Jae-myung's flawed policy," and added, "He is dodging questions about raising property taxes and abolishing the long-term holding special deduction, while there is no sign of any plan for the most serious issue facing ordinary people: jeonse and monthly rent."
Jang said, "It is obvious that Jung Won-oh, the so-called 'top pick,' will become a 'top follower,'" and added, "If Jung Won-oh becomes mayor, Seoul citizens will be driven out of their own homes."
About Jeon, he mocked him by saying, "He is boasting that he will move HMM's headquarters to Busan, but he would first need union approval under the Yellow Envelope Law, which was created by the current administration," and, "He could not even get the Busan Global Hub City Special Act, which was already agreed upon, passed, so can he really get anything done properly?"
He also claimed, "When asked whether he received a Cartier watch, he cannot even say a single word that he did not," and added, "If the bribery investigation involving the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification is handled properly, he is someone who could be sent to prison even now."
