[The Financial News] Actress Han Da-gam, 46, has announced that she is pregnant after six years of marriage.
On the 28th, Han Da-gam posted a handwritten letter on her Instagram.
She said, "I debuted in my 20s and spent years running forward with my eyes only on the road ahead. I got married at 41, and this year, in my sixth year of marriage, I have been blessed with a child. I still can't believe it."
She added, "I am so grateful and wanted to share this wonderful, awe-inspiring moment with all of you, so I decided to write this post. Based on cases so far, I may be the oldest pregnant actress right now."
She also described the difficult process that led to the pregnancy.
Han Da-gam wrote, "After finishing a play last year, I wanted to get the best possible result, so I started visiting the hospital in advance and prepared carefully. Thanks to all that effort, I was grateful to succeed with IVF on the very first try."
She continued, "I am so thankful for receiving such a great blessing and gift at this late stage in my life. I think the exercise I have kept up for many years, along with my best efforts to manage my diet, helped a great deal."
She said, "I feel like I am entering a second chapter of my life. As the oldest expectant mother, I will work out even harder, take better care of myself, and move forward carefully into this second life."
She added, "I think I will be able to meet my beautiful baby this fall. I am truly grateful to everyone who congratulated me."
Han Da-gam, who debuted in the 1999 drama For Love, gained popularity through appearances in Full House and Grudge: The Revolt of Gumiho.
She debuted under the name Han Eun-jung and changed her name in 2018. In 2020, she married a businessman one year her senior.
Until now, actress Choi Ji-woo had been regarded as the oldest expectant mother in the entertainment industry. Choi Ji-woo became pregnant at 45 in 2020 and gave birth at 46. With Han Da-gam announcing her pregnancy at 46, a new record for the oldest expectant mother in entertainment has been set.
