[Financial News] Police have launched an investigation into allegations that former President Moon Jae-in and Minister of Health and Welfare Jeong Eun-kyeong mishandled the management of COVID-19 vaccines.
\r\nOn the 28th, police said Seoul Gangnam Police Station had booked Moon and Jeong in connection with the alleged mismanagement of COVID-19 vaccines and conducted questioning of the complainant on the 2nd.
\r\nRecently, a civic group filed a complaint, saying the Moon Jae-in administration carried out vaccinations during the COVID-19 pandemic without sufficient measures, despite concerns over safety.
Earlier, in February, the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI) released audit results saying that more than 1,000 reports of suspected foreign matter in COVID-19 vaccines had been received. However, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) has maintained that the vaccines linked to those reports were not actually used for inoculation and were all separately quarantined and stored.
Police plan to decide the direction of the investigation after a comprehensive review of whether to question additional suspects.
