\r\n[The Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump said he continues to communicate with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to bring the Russia-Ukraine war to an end.
In an interview with Fox News on the 26th local time, Trump was asked how far peace talks on the Russia-Ukraine war had progressed. He replied, "I’m talking with President Putin, and I’m also talking with President Zelenskyy. Great conversations," adding, "I hope we can get a good result."
Trump said he did not want to disclose when he last spoke with Putin. He added, "The hatred between President Putin and President Zelenskyy is at a ridiculous level. It’s insane." He continued, "Hatred is a bad thing. When you are trying to solve something, hatred is bad. But in the end, it will happen."
Trump then repeated that he has ended eight wars and said the Russia-Ukraine war looks like the easiest one for him to solve.
During his presidential campaign, Trump had previously promised to end the Russia-Ukraine war within 24 hours of taking office. However, 15 months after the start of his presidency, the war is still ongoing.
Meanwhile, Zelenskyy said in a CNN interview on the 23rd that attention to the Russia-Ukraine war has been diverted since the outbreak of the war between the U.S. and Iran. He added that Ukraine cannot postpone negotiations until the Iran war ends.
