[Financial News] Singer and actor Ok Taec-yeon, 38, is facing controversy after photos from his private wedding with his non-celebrity partner at a hotel in Seoul on the 24th were leaked.
On the 27th, photos from Ok Taec-yeon's wedding venue were posted on Chinese social networking services and online communities. Chinese media outlets, including Xinhua News Agency, later published articles that displayed the images without alteration.
The wedding was held privately, with only family members from both sides, relatives and close acquaintances in attendance, given that the bride is a non-celebrity. However, the photos posted online showed Ok Taec-yeon linking arms with the bride and looking at her face or touching foreheads, as well as images of the outdoor ceremony venue.
Both Ok Taec-yeon and the bride were shown clearly, without any mosaic blur.
The post is believed to have been uploaded by a Chinese tourist staying at Hotel Shilla in Jangchung-dong, Jung District, Seoul, where the wedding took place, after the person spotted the ceremony from a room window and took photos.

Online reactions in South Korea and China were divided over the photos.
Chinese netizens responded positively, saying, "Chinese tourists are faster than Korean reporters," "I heard his relationship was first revealed when a Chinese person happened to run into him," and "Chinese people are everywhere."
By contrast, Korean netizens criticized the incident, saying, "Revealing even the bride's face, who is a non-celebrity, is an invasion of privacy," "They said it was private, so why are the ceremony photos being distributed without permission?" and "Chinese people show no respect for celebrities' privacy."
Earlier, Ok Taec-yeon personally announced his marriage in a handwritten letter in November last year. At the time, his agency 51k said, "The wedding will be held privately next spring in Seoul, with only family members from both sides, relatives and close acquaintances in attendance." It added that no further details would be disclosed because his spouse is a non-celebrity.
