The Unstoppable KOSPI Composite Index Breaks Through 6,500 for the First Time, Touches an All-Time High of 6,557.76 [Morning Market Report]

As of 11:21 a.m. that day, the KOSPI Composite Index was trading at 6,466.81, up 48.88 points, or 0.76%, from the previous session.
It opened at 6,488.83, up 70.90 points, or 1.10%, from the previous session, and surged early in the session to break through 6,500.
It then hit an all-time high of 6,557.76.
In the domestic stock market, individual investors sold 645.6 billion won worth of shares, while foreign investors and institutions bought 173.4 billion won and 548.4 billion won worth, respectively.
Among the 14 largest stocks by market capitalization, Samsung C&T Corporation rose the most, up 5.32%, followed by Doosan Enerbility at 4.75% and Samsung Electronics at 2.99%.
By contrast, Samsung Electro-Mechanics fell 3.94%, LG Energy Solution dropped 3.51%, and Samsung SDI declined 2.58%.
SK hynix, the second-largest stock by market capitalization, was trading at 1,223,000 won, unchanged from the previous session.
The KOSDAQ was trading at 1,176.97, down 4.15 points, or 0.35%, from the previous session. The index opened at 1,189.10, up 7.98 points, or 0.68%, but later reversed course and turned lower.
