[The Financial News] Musinsa's short-sleeve T-shirts, sold at a rock-bottom price, reportedly sparked controversy after orders were canceled.
According to Asia Today on the 20th, Musinsa recently sold a short-sleeve T-shirt from one brand for 2,200 won per piece. The item was offered at about 96% off the regular price and quickly sold out.
However, the issue surfaced after buyers received messages saying their orders had been canceled.
In the cancellation notice posted on an online community, Musinsa explained, "Due to an incorrectly registered sale price, your order will be canceled before shipment," and added, "If you wish, please place a new order."
It also said the coupon used would be restored and that an additional 10% discount coupon usable for the brand would be issued.
Some customers reacted by saying, "It was canceled as expected" and "Canceled in the end," but negative responses were more common.
Posts on social media included comments such as, "Wasn't this just a way to draw attention with noise and lure sign-ups with a 10% coupon?" "This is clearly noise marketing," and "There have been similar cases before."
