[Financial News Seoul·New Delhi, India=Reporter Seong Seok-woo, Choi Jong-geun] President Lee Jae Myung planted an Ashoka tree with Prime Minister Narendra Modi after taking a commemorative photo at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg on the 20th local time.
President Lee arrived at the prime minister's residence at around 11:33 a.m. in a black vehicle and greeted Modi with a handshake at the entrance. Modi came out to the entrance about a minute earlier to welcome him.
The two leaders moved to the center of the lawn area where reporters had gathered in front of the residence, shook hands, and posed for photos. They then moved to the landscaped area next to the prime minister's residence for the commemorative planting.
President Lee and Modi planted the Ashoka tree, then used shovels to cover it with soil two or three times before watering it with a watering can. Afterward, the two leaders returned to the prime minister's residence.
