\r\n[The Financial News] A family member has testified that Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, Inc., and his brother Kimbal Musk are holding bitcoin worth about 2.5 trillion won.
According to a report by U.S. business outlet Benzinga on the 17th (local time), Errol Musk, Elon Musk's father, said in a recent interview that his two sons hold a total of 23,400 bitcoins.
Based on current prices, that amounts to about $1.7 billion, or roughly 2.5 trillion won.
However, if holdings owned by companies such as Tesla, Inc. and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) are excluded, the Musk brothers' personal holdings are estimated at around 3,600 bitcoins.
Elon Musk, currently the world's richest person, is preparing for SpaceX's Initial Public Offering (IPO), and his wealth is expected to grow even further.
If his undisclosed cryptocurrency holdings are added as well, some observers say the world's first trillionaire could emerge.
Musk has never officially disclosed the size of his bitcoin holdings, but he has consistently expressed strong interest in the cryptocurrency market.
He has repeatedly mentioned Dogecoin (DOGE), a so-called meme coin, and has influenced the market. More recently, he also introduced a feature on X (formerly Twitter), the social media platform he runs, that allows users to check cryptocurrency prices.
