KOSPI Composite Index closes at 6,191.92 on foreign selling [fn Closing Market Report]

The KOSPI Composite Index closed at 6,191.92, down 34.13 points, or 0.55%, from the previous session. It opened at 6,277.33, up 1.28 points, or 0.02%, but soon reversed into negative territory.
Kang Jinhyuk, a researcher at Shinhan Securities, said, "As the KOSPI Composite Index hit a record high ahead of the second round of Iran–United States negotiations, investors increasingly moved to the sidelines."
In the domestic main board market, individual investors bought 1.4462 trillion won and institutions purchased 150 billion won, while foreign investors sold a net 2.0027 trillion won.
Among the top 14 stocks by market capitalization, Samsung Electro-Mechanics rose 6.26%, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries gained 4.15%, and Kia advanced 0.82%. In contrast, Hanwha Aerospace fell 6.32%, SK hynix declined 2.34%, and Doosan Enerbility lost 2.08%.
Samsung Electronics, the largest stock by market capitalization, ended at 216,000 won, down 0.69% from the previous session.
The KOSDAQ Index closed at 1,170.04, up 7.07 points, or 0.61%, from the previous trading day. It opened at 1,166.78, up 3.81 points, or 0.33%.
