President Lee to pay six-day, five-night state visits to India and Vietnam from the 19th

[Financial News] President Lee Jae-myung of South Korea will pay state visits to India and Vietnam from the 19th to the 24th, a six-day, five-night trip. President Lee plans to seek ways to expand strategic cooperation with India and Vietnam, both of which continue to post rapid economic growth.
Wi Sung-lac, director of the Office of National Security (ONS) at Cheong Wa Dae, briefed reporters at the Chunchugwan Press Center at the Blue House on the 16th and announced President Lee’s itinerary for his visits to India and Vietnam.
From the 19th to the 21st, President Lee will pay a two-night, three-day state visit to New Delhi, India. It will be the first visit to India by a Korean president in eight years and the earliest state visit to India by a Korean leader after taking office.
On the 19th, in line with protocol for state visits, President Lee will meet with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and attend a dinner meeting with Korean residents.
On the 20th, his schedule includes an official welcome ceremony, a small-group summit and an expanded summit with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony, and a joint press announcement. He will then attend a luncheon hosted by Prime Minister Modi.
The two leaders and major business representatives from both countries are also scheduled to take part in the Korea-India Business Dialogue to explore avenues for cooperation. In addition, President Lee will attend the Korea-India Business Forum, where he plans to discuss mutually beneficial cooperation with key business figures from both sides, focusing on sectors where the two countries’ strengths and needs align. He will later attend a state banquet hosted by Indian President Droupadi Murmu.
President Lee will also participate in the Korea-India Business Forum, where he intends to work with leading business figures from both countries to identify mutually beneficial cooperation in areas where their respective strengths and demands converge. Afterwards, he will join a state banquet hosted by Indian President Droupadi Murmu.
President Lee will then stay in Hanoi, Vietnam, from the 21st to the 24th for three nights and four days. After arriving in Hanoi on the 21st, he will hold a luncheon meeting with Korean residents on the 22nd and then hold a summit with To Lam, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and president. Following their talks, the two leaders will take part in an MOU signing ceremony, a joint press announcement, and a state banquet.
An economic delegation has been formed to accompany this state visit, and the heads of the four major conglomerates—Samsung, SK, Hyundai Motor, and LG—are expected to join, with participation tailored to the circumstances in each country.
