[Financial News] Donald Trump, President of the United States, uploaded a new picture to his social networking service (SNS) account on the 15th (local time). Just days earlier, he had sparked controversy by posting an image generated by artificial intelligence (AI) that likened himself to Jesus, then deleted it 12 hours later as the backlash grew. The new image is quite different: this time, he is shown being held by Jesus.
Sharing the new image on Truth Social, President Donald Trump wrote, "The radical left lunatics may not like this, but I think it’s pretty good."
This image also appears to have been generated by AI. It depicts Jesus wrapping his arms around President Donald Trump as they press their foreheads together with their eyes closed, while the Flag of the United States is visible in the background.
The image originally came from a post on X (formerly Twitter), which included the caption, "I can’t help but think that God has played the Trump card."
Previously, on the 12th, President Donald Trump had posted an AI-generated illustration but deleted it after 12 hours as criticism mounted that he was comparing himself to Jesus.
In that illustration, President Donald Trump wears clothing reminiscent of a biblical figure, placing one hand on a patient’s forehead while light shines from his other hand. Around him are the Stars and Stripes, the Statue of Liberty, a bald eagle and other American symbols, as well as soldiers, nurses and various people gazing up at President Donald Trump in reverence.
As the controversy intensified, he told reporters that the image was meant to portray himself "in the role of a doctor."
Afterward, internet users began posting AI-generated photos and videos mocking President Donald Trump for depicting himself as Jesus. Many of them sarcastically played on his excuse that he had thought he was shown as a doctor, not Jesus, in the generated image.
