According to The Financial News, the government has reportedly provided information on 26 Korean ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz to related countries, and Cheong Wa Dae, the Blue House, described this as being "for ship safety."
Cheong Wa Dae, the Blue House, explained the reports about the transfer of information on 26 Korean ships in the Strait of Hormuz, stating, "The government is communicating with relevant countries regarding the safety and passage of ships in the Strait of Hormuz, and provided ship information to them for the purpose of ensuring ship safety."
The measure is intended to secure the safety of Korean vessels amid growing concerns over navigation in the Strait of Hormuz due to instability in the Middle East.
However, Cheong Wa Dae said it "asks for your understanding that we cannot confirm" specific details such as which countries received the information, the scope of the data, or the timing of its provision.
