The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that any warship attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz will "face serious consequences."
Al Jazeera reported on the 11th (local time) that the IRGC Navy issued this warning.
According to the Tasnim News Agency, the IRGC Navy said in a statement that "the IRGC Navy has full authority to intelligently manage the Strait of Hormuz," adding that "only civilian vessels are allowed to pass under specific conditions."
The IRGC Navy also denied the United States Central Command (CENTCOM)'s claim that two U.S. warships had passed through the Strait of Hormuz.
