Even on the 11th (local time), when delegations from the United States of America (US) and the Islamic Republic of Iran met in Pakistan for talks on a cease-fire plan, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continued airstrikes in Lebanon targeting Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group.
Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported that an Israeli airstrike hit the village of Kfar Sir in the Nabatieh region of southern Lebanon, killing four people. It added that three people were also killed in each of the nearby villages of Jebta and Tool. In the afternoon, additional reports said five more people were killed in an airstrike on the Tafahta area. Taken together, at least 15 people were killed.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released footage of the strikes, saying it is "continuing to thwart threats against Israel" and showing airstrikes on Hezbollah rocket launchers and other targets.
In a statement issued in the afternoon, the IDF said, "Over the past 24 hours, more than 200 Hezbollah terror targets in Lebanon have been struck." It explained that the Israeli Air Force is continuing airstrikes on Hezbollah infrastructure and is supporting Israeli ground forces operating in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah announced that it had fired rockets at Israeli military infrastructure in the Admit settlement using drones and missiles, and had carried out a drone strike on the Metula area, where Israeli troops and vehicles were gathered. It also claimed to have hit an Israeli tank deployed near Adaisseh on Israel’s northern border with missiles and drones.
Israel has not halted its military operations in Lebanon even after the United States of America (US) and the Islamic Republic of Iran abruptly announced a two-week truce on the 8th. The Ministry of Public Health of Lebanon said that 357 people were killed in Lebanon in just one day during the massive Israeli airstrike on Beirut on the 8th.
