In response, the People Power Party (PPP) issued a statement on the 10th through its chief spokesperson for the parliamentary caucus, Park Chung-kwon, criticizing that the Lee Jae-myung administration's delusions about the DPRK are shaking security on the Korean Peninsula to its core.
Starting on the 6th, the very day President Lee Jae-myung expressed regret, the DPRK conducted three days of consecutive missile tests, deploying an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapon, a graphite bomb, and cluster munitions.
The PPP stated, "The graphite bomb is presumed to have been tested for the purpose of destroying our national power grid. Cluster munitions are also internationally banned weapons that can devastate an area the size of ten soccer fields and are called a 'devil's weapon.'" The party expressed deep concern over these developments.
The EMP weapon is an advanced system believed to have been used in operations to capture Maduro and in the war involving the Islamic Republic of Iran, and is intended to disrupt our military's command structure and air-defense network. The missiles that were launched in succession over the East Sea (Sea of Japan) on the 8th are the Hwasongpho-11Ga tactical ballistic missiles for use against the South. These are the DPRK's mainstay missiles, which have been thoroughly tested in actual combat during the Russia–Ukraine war.
In addition, the PPP noted that while the DPRK is testing graphite bombs and electromagnetic weapons that can paralyze the power grid and change the nature of warfare, the Lee Jae-myung administration has even unveiled a plan to cut frontline troop numbers to one quarter of their current level, expressing grave concern.
The PPP condemned the administration, saying, "Not only is it distorting the DPRK's outrageous provocations as signals for dialogue and apologizing as if to say, 'we are sorry for making you angry' even after being slapped by the enemy, but it is now trying to unbolt even the last line of national defense at the front line." The party denounced this as being tantamount to self-harm.
