[Financial News] “I can bring the hype anywhere,” “All of you are my muse”...
BTS has released the music video for “Hooligan,” following “SWIM” and “2.0.” That makes three music videos unveiled in just the past two weeks.
The “Hooligan” music video, a track from their fifth full-length album “Arirang (ARIRANG),” dropped at midnight on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel on the 8th. Unlike the previous two videos, this one stands out with its explosive energy. In particular, the surreal, gravity-defying direction and the performance of the seven members alongside a large group of dancers are the highlight.
Jin appears in a mysterious stillness and puts on a black mask. As if his action were a signal, dozens of dancers soon gather and launch into a powerful group dance. The key color, red, is used to heighten the sense of an unfamiliar, otherworldly space. Figures and objects frozen midair, as if defying gravity, create a surreal atmosphere throughout the video. The precise yet explosive choreography delivers visual thrills, while the members’ uninhibited gestures make it even more engaging to watch.
The members themselves expressed satisfaction with the work. Through their label Big Hit Music, they said, “The rough styling and the mood each scene gives off are so cool that we were completely immersed in the shoot for the first time in a while.” In this video, BTS pulls off stylish looks featuring black outerwear with intricate detailing, sunglasses, and tooth gems.
The music video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis, who has worked with global pop stars such as Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, and Anne-Marie.
“Hooligan” is an alternative hip-hop track that tells the story of BTS’s journey as they have traveled the world and carved out their own path. The intro leaves a strong impression, layering the sharp sound of clashing blades over lavish strings. Its distinctive rhythm built from the sound of blades striking, combined with the deep, low 808 bass, creates a fresh and unique atmosphere.
Comments on the music video include, “This is BTS in 2013, and this is BTS in 2026 with capital added on top,” “Now that BTS is back, every single day feels like a blessing,” and “I can’t believe that after everything they’ve been through, they still look this incredible.”
Meanwhile, BTS will kick off the “BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'” on the 9th at Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province.
