[Financial News] It has recently been confirmed that Kim Hoon, the so‐called “stalking murderer” who killed his ex‐girlfriend after stalking her in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, has been diagnosed as a psychopath (antisocial personality disorder).
According to a report by Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) on the 8th, Kim Hoon scored 33 out of 40 on the Psychopathy Checklist–Revised (PCL‐R), which was administered during the prosecution’s investigation.
Individuals are generally classified as psychopaths from a score of 25 and above. His score is high even compared with major past offenders such as Yoo Young-chul (38), Lee Eun-hae (31), Jeong Nam-gyu (29), and Kang Ho-sun (27).
Police initially determined that Kim Hoon’s crime was motivated by retaliation and therefore did not conduct a psychopathy assessment. The test was later carried out during a supplementary investigation by prosecutors, according to reports.
Previously, on the 14th of last month, Kim Hoon was charged with fatally stabbing a woman in her 20s whom he had been stalking, on a road in Onam-eup, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea.
Since November last year, Kim Hoon has been on trial for injuring the victim. More recently, she also filed a complaint against him for violating the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes.
